Barbary Drake - Marauderby *WormsandBones

WE LIVE. So, having survived the familial gauntlet (ie. the holidays), we're back to work.... annnnd we figured we might as well make our first 2013 post a BIG one.

We're calling this the 'marauder' colour scheme, since we had pirates in mind when we decided on it. Dapper pirates. He's even got a gold tooth (what? A pirate's gotta keep some gold on his person at all times, just in case).

Fully poseable of course, includin' his jaw using ball and socket joints (and in a guy this big, there's SO MANY). He's got a nice realistic range of movements, and is great at eating things he shouldn't... like all pets. He can sit, stand, walk, lay down, roll over, bite his tail, preen his wings, even stand on his hind legs.

Also, largeness! From nose to tail he's about 31.5" long, 15" high when he's standing in a comfy position (not stretched upward) with a 30" wingspan and 4 gallons of attitude.

As always, all his parts are cast in nice n' sturdy resin from our original sculpts, then painted by hand. I got a little excited with the bronze paint, so he's pretty darn shiny in places. We did his eyes in a warm copper to match some of the mottling on his wings. Pelt's sewn from scratch by Bones using vegan friendly faux furs.

Think I covered it all? OH, he's also on our brand new artfire account - we're giving it a try as an etsy alternative to see what its like.

It seems all right. Not wild about the 'listing rating' that requires you to be excessively wordy. Means it takes a LOT longer to fill out all the listing fields.

I'm curious to see how the traffic is. I love that it's a monthly charge, without a fee to the specific item (am I understanding their policy correctly?)
