After much heartache (read: cursing, endless cups of tea and innumerable sighs), Bones managed the pattern for our bear, and we're both pretty pleased at how he came out. Given the right backdrop, he takes some pretty convincing photos! I wanted to take some shots of him trying to get into a tin of salmon, but alas someone ate it all.
He's roughly 5" tall at the withers, about 10.5" long, and 11" standing on his hind legs (like a little Rory Calhoun). His head and feet were cast from our original sculpts (you can see the first pulls here
) hand painted right down to his eyes, then sealed. He's got a realistic range of movement thanks to his ball and socket joints, and his pelt is vegan friendly faux fur sewn by Bones-the-long-suffering, who put up with me asking every twelve minutes if the pattern was done yet... then suggesting umpteen different changes once she HAD finished.
Chances are good we won't have anymore of these guys available until we're through our next two conventions, but this one at least is lookin' for a new home on Etsy.
