Taunt the Dragon by WormsandBones Taunt the Dragon by WormsandBones
Behold, the squiggle dragon in all his slinky, weasely glory!
Taunt, named by his new owner/handler Baxley, might have an impressive set of chops, but he's largely a veggie dragon. Apparently a dragon is what happens when you leave a snek in a dark dank rubbermaid tub too long (or feed them after midnight...).

Made with cast resin pieces molded from our original sculpts, he's hand painted, hand sewn and assembled with plastic jointed armature for poseability & durability.
And given that he's now the best friend of a three year old, we're pretty confident that he's sturdy. :D

We'll be debuting these dragons at Anime North in a couple weeks, and they'll be available to order shortly after that. :3

:D Yep, it worked out pretty well for the 'evolved' snek dragon. :3 We're going to try out making an evolved long nose too I think...

Probably looking at a pricetag around $150 - wings however may be an add-on, so we can do BIG wings instead of bitty little silly ones.

Ohh he's so adorable. Great idea to use the snek parts for a larger dragon! The bushy tail is my favourite part. I'm not a fan of felt, but it works on this guy =P I have a few friends going to Anime North, I should tell them to go get one :XD:

We were kinda worried he'd be too 'scary' looking to appeal to Baxley: he's seen the Mayan snek face before, and proclaimed 'that's a bad guy'... but apparently Taunt passed muster! I'm actually not a huge fan of felt myself, but as far as being easy to work with, and retaining shapes while still being poseable, its pretty good stuff. Would love to try some different fabric in the future (something with a little spandex in it for stretch), but for the time being, stuck with the supplies to hand.

I love the inquisitive look in his eyes, and the detail of his face and claws! So cute! And it's so smart to cast resin pieces. You'll get to make so many more, just as cute!

Cheers! I'm rather fond of his fat little toes, but then again I'm weird that way. :3
The resin is definitely handy that way, although honestly our main reason for choosing resin was the sheer durability of it. You can kick that sucker around, and nothing will break. :D

Well, that makes even more sense. Durability is why I've cast my BJD's joints before finishing the sculpt on the limbs. :) I may not have kicked around the parts(yet), but I am a clumsy dropper of things!

:D We're estimating about $150 right now, sans wings. We may also do a variety of wing options add-ons, depending on how attached people are to having wings. Baxley requested wings specifically, and since it was his birthday we figured we'd work 'em into the design.
